Happy Easter Everyone
If you want to sell the jerky you need to offer samples. Once people taste Jerky Direct jerky you have a good chance that you will have a customer. In order to give samples away you can approach it in a few different ways.
1. Buy the little sample packs and give them away.
Advantage – They are easy, professional looking and you can put stickers with your website on them.
Disadvantage – They cost $1.20 each.
2. Give samples from the 3-4oz bags.
Advantage – Can cost less per sample, people can see the type of bag they would be purchasing.
Disadvantage – Less professional, they won’t be taking a bag with your sticker on it.
3. Give samples in homemade baggies.
Advantage – Can cost less per sample, easy to distribute.
Disadvantage – Less professional, it is hard to put a sticker on it.
Let’s talk about how to use each method.
1. The commercial Jerky Direct samples I mainly use as a recruiting aid. I can give a person the bag and they can go home and try it, share it, etc. With the sticker on the bag they can go to my website. I make sure that each bag has a sticker on it!
2. When I give samples from the bag I cut them up first in smaller pieces. I wash the scissors I use with dish soap then I rinse them well. I then use a baggie to handle the jerky and cut each piece into smaller “sample” pieces. I place some of the jerky in a spare empty jerky bag that I keep in the refrigerator. I only take the amount of jerky I think I will use that day and keep the rest in the refrigerator. I pass out a business card when I give out the samples.
3. Most of suggestion #2 applies here. I am meticulously clean when I cut and place the samples in the baggies. I attach a card to each baggie. I only make up what I plan to give away that day and tell the potential customer/recruit to eat it that day.
Using these methods and having a positive attitude will get you many customers and recruits.
